KHAIRPUR: 11 growers booked

KHAIRPUR, July 15: The Tando Masti police have booked 11 growers on Tuesday under section 60 and 61 of the Irrigation Act.

The complainant, sub-engineer Abdul Ghani, has alleged in the FIR that the nominated persons lifted the gates of the Jeal Shakh, fed from the Faiz Wah, late Monday night and stole water.

Eight growers who were nominated in the FIR were Ghazi Shah, Wazir Shah, Abdul Hameed Jatoi, Ranjhan, Mohammad Hashim, Mehboob, Sohrab, and Liaquat. The names of the remaining could not be ascertained.

FIVE INJURED: Five people — Ajeeban, Ghulam Haider, Umer, Hashim and Pyar Ali — were injured over a petty dispute in the Handiyari village, near Thari Mirwah, on Monday.—Correspondent
