HYDERABAD, July 15: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Hyderabad, here on Tuesday announced the results of Higher Secondary Certificate-I and II annual examinations of the commerce group.

A total number of 883 candidates appeared in the part-II (class-X) examinations out of which 653 were declared successful and the results of five students was withheld for different reasons. The percentage of successful candidates is 73.83 per cent.

The first position went to Mohammad Asad, son of Mohammad Hashim, seat no-95,347, of Government Ghazali College Latifabad- 11, who grabbed 786 marks; the second position went to Sadia Sharif, daughter of Mohammad Sharif, seat no-97,094, of Government Girls College Nawabshah, who bagged 783 marks; and the third position went to Aquif Abdullah, son of Abdullah Rajput, seat no-95,098, of Government Sachal Sarmast Commerce College, Hyderabad, who secured 755 marks.

Among the boy candidates, Mr Asad secured the first position and Mr Abdullah and Nawab Javed Hussain, son of Nawab Zahid Hussain, seat no-95,200, both of the Government Sachal Sarmast Commerce College, Hyderabad, secured second and third positions with 755 and 735 marks, respectively.

Among the girl candidates, Ms Sharif bagged the first position and Rukhsana, daughter of Mohammad Yousuf, seat no- 97,096, of Government Girls College, Nawabshah, secured the second position by securing 783 and 743 marks, resp-ectively.

The third position went to Urooj, daughter of Ali Mohammad Khowaja, seat no-95,285, of Government Girls College, Hyderabad, who obtained 739 marks.

PART-I: A total number of 1,305 candidates appeared in the class-XI examinations out of which 574 candidates were declared pass in all the subjects.

The result of 71 candidates was withheld for one or the other reasons.

AWARD: Professor Dr Pushpa Srichand of the Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences has been conferred National Cultural Award for minorities-2003 by the federal ministry of minorities in recognition of her achievements in her profession.
