KARACHI, July 14: Al Hamra CC moved into the quarterfinals of the Azadi Cricket Tournament organised by Pakistan Asian Cricket Club, when they registered a 40-run victory over W.S.C.C. on Sunday.
Batting first, Al Hamra scored 203 for nine wickets in 21 overs. W.S.C.C. in reply could only manage 163 for the loss of nine wickets.
In an afternoon match Adamjee Sports scored a four-wicket triumph over Golden Boys.
Golden Boys were restricted to 168 for nine wickets in 25. Adamjee Sports reached the winning total of 169, losing six wickets in the process.
A day earlier, St. Lawrence’s CC made their exit from the tournament going down by seven wickets to Hussain Merchant CC at the Nishtar Park.
Batting first, St. Lawrence’s reached 136 for five wickets. Hussain Merchant CC achieved the target of 137 for the loss of three wickets.
The match between Rizwan Sports and Aftab Sports was rained out after Rizwan Sports were bowled out for 150 runs in 24.3 overs. Aftab Sports could not commence their innings and both teams were awarded one point apiece.
