LAHORE, July 14: The inquiry committee of Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF), heard Sohail Abbas, Muhammad Wasim, former national team manager Shahnaz Sheikh and Wapda’s hockey manager Saghir Ahmed in a case of indiscipline on Monday.

The committee headed by Pervez Saeed Mir of Pakistan Air Force (PAF) will submit its findings and recommendations to PHF on Tuesday.

The inquiry committee met Sohail, Wasim, Shahnaz and Saghir, separately.

Later, Pervez told journalists that the committee would finalise its report in the light of the statements submitted by all the four parties. He said that it was upto the federation to accept the recommendations of the committee and announce it to the public.

Shahnaz said that he had submitted in the report that he neither met Sohail nor Wasim after the Azlan Shah Cup winning team returned home from Malaysia and till the departure of the players to Germany.

Sohail and Wasim who avoided to answer various questions of the reporters said that they want to play for Pakistan. They said that going to Germany without getting the permission from the PHF was a blunder.

Sohail said that he learnt new methods to convert the short corner in more effective ways.
