KARACHI, July 14: Secretary general of the Mohajir Qaumi Movement (MQM-H) Amir Khan was remanded in judicial custody till July 26 by the Judicial Magistrate, Central, Farooq Ahmed Abbasi, here on Monday.

The accused was booked by the Liaquatabad police on charge of snatching arms from guards/gunmen of a leader of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, Shoaib Bokhari, on June 19, 1992, the day an operation clean-up commenced in the city.

The same court also ordered judicial custody of the accused till July 18 in another case registered under section 188 Cr.PC for violating section 144.

Earlier, the accused was produced before the concerned judge amid strict security arrangements with dozens of police personnel detailed since morning inside the city courts complex. — APP
