Budget slashed
ATHENS, July 13: Greek Culture Minister Evangelos Venizelos confirmed on Sunday that the government had cut the budget for the preparation of venues for the Athens Olympics. A Greek news agency reported that the US$830m budget would be slashed by 60 to 70%.—AFP
