KARACHI, July 13: Technical officials created confusion for the media on Sunday when they provided incorrect scoresheet after the third game of the Pakistan-China friendship hockey series.
The official scoresheet had erroneous names of Pakistani scorers, while the scores were not in sequence as they should have been. The names of the Pakistani and Chinese scorers were mentioned separately and not in the order in which the goals were scored.
According to the official scoresheet, Pakistan’s first goal was scored by Sameer Hussain, while the fact is it was netted by Kashif Jawwad.
Likewise, according to official scores, the second goal was scored by Kashif, which actually Mohammad Saqlain netted off an indirect drill.
Earlier, the media had to go through a similar mental torture when nobody from the field jury took notice of the blatant violation of rules by the Pakistan Juniors in the first game against the visitors on Thursday.
Pakistan junior team had taken the field with illegible shirt numbers and many of the players wore different numbers on their shirts and shorts, making it difficult to determine who scored the goal.
Besides, the shirt numbers of Pakistan Juniors were not matching with the numbers mentioned in the line-ups provided to the reporters.
