Flintoff up to 3rd in ODI ratings

LONDON, July 13: Andrew Flintoff climbed to third in the world one-day all rounder ratings after helping England win the triangular series against South Africa and Zimbabwe.

It is the first time an England all rounder has been in the top three in Test or One-day International ratings since Ian Botham.

The top one-day all rounder is again South Africa’s Jacques Kallis, whose batting returned to its pre-World Cup levels during the tournament.

South Africa fast bowler Shaun Pollock did not do enough in the series to sustain his number one bowling rating and was replaced at the top by Sri Lanka off spinner Muttiah Muralitharan.

In the batting ratings, England opener Marcus Trescothick remained seventh, Flintoff rose 14 places to 31st and captain Michael Vaughan climbed 17 spots to 47th.

Kallis (eighth) replaced Herschelle Gibbs as South Africa’s only representative in the top-10 batsmen.
