LAHORE, July 12: An unbeaten 158 by Mohammad Sohail enabled West Zone Blues earned a 101-run lead over West Zone Whites in the drawn match of the Lahore region in the PCB Inter-district Under-19 Cricket Championship at LCCA Ground.
Sohail smashed 19 fours as the Blues declared their first innings at 277 for eight in 71 overs in reply to Whites 176.
West Zones Whites reached 125 for five in their second innings when two-day match ended.
Meanwhile, a laborious knock of 92 by Mohammad Irfan failed to get North Zone Blues first innings lead by six runs against North Zone Whites at Model Town Ground.
Irfan hit 13 fours as his side was bowled out for 271 in 78.3 overs in reply to North Zone Whites’ 276.
The Whites were 42 for two in 19 overs in their second innings when the umpires decided to call off the match.

APP adds from Karachi: A captain’s knock of 101 not out by Aamir Kaleem helped Zone-VI gain first innings points in the drawn game of the Karachi region against Zone-III at Asifabad Sports Complex.
Aamir’s 101 not out off 159 balls with 11 hits to the fence guided Zone-VI to 213 for eight declared in reponse to Zone-III’s 146.
Faraz Ahmed, meanwhile, produced a good all-round performance as the match between Zone-I and Zone-II at TMC Ground also ended in a stalemate. Faraz took four for 10 in the second to finish with a match haul of six for 57 and also scored 33.
At Student Ground, Zone-V were unable to gain first inninhs lead against Zone-VI.
Waqas Haroon missed a century by only five runs. He hit seven fours in his 95 after having taken three wickets with his leg spin on Friday.

Our Sports Reporter adds from Islamabad: Heavy monsoon rains washed out all three matches in Rawalpindi and Islamabad on Saturday, the last day of the two-day games.
At the KRL Ground where Rawalpindi and Islamabad were involved, umpires called off play as late as 4.00pm.
There was also no play at the Rawalpindi Stadium where Jhelum were facing Azad Jammu Kashmir.
Similarly not a ball could be bowled in the match between Attock and Chakwal at Islamabad’s Shalimar Ground.
