Anti-flood measures reviewed

JACOBABAD, July 12: A meeting here on Friday reviewed the contingency plans in the wake of flood at the Guddu Barrage.

DCO Jacobabad Bakhshal Khan Gadaro presided over the meeting. The executive engineer irrigation, SDO Guddu Barrage, assistant engineer Kashmore, executive engineer Wapda, DPO, EDO (agriculture), EDO (health) and EDO (roads) attended the meeting.

The officials were directed to remain vigilant to meet any exigency in the wake of the imminent threat of flood in the Indus river.

The DCO told the meeting that there was 200,000 cusecs of water at the Guddu Barrage and there was likelihood of rise in the flow up to 400,000 cusecs by July 13 and emergency would be declared by that time.
