PKF urges POA to bar SKA
KARACHI, July 11: The Pakistan Karate Federation (PKF) has advised the Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) to bar the Sindh Karate Association (SKA) to vote in the elections of the Sindh Olympic Association (SOA) being held on Saturday.
In a letter addressed to POA Secretary Latif Butt, Secretary POA the PKF secretary Muhammad Jahangir has pointed out that there was a problem regarding the issue of the newly elected office bearers of the SKA.
“The elections of the SKA were reportedly said to have been held on March 15, 2002. However the organizer of these elections neither informed us about the holding of the elections nor invited any representative from the PKF to attend as observer.
Further, no representative of the Sindh Sports Board or any other neutral organization attended this election meeting,” the PKF secretary wrote to the POA.
“We have received numerous complaints from different groups in Sindh complaining about the genuineness of these organizations.
“We have also noticed that the constitution of the SKA is very vague where definition of the tenure of the office-bearers is outlined.”
Munir Ahmed Dar, President, PKF, had written to the SKA Secretary Syed Sakhawat Ali, seeking clarification on the various charges levelled against the provincial body.
“It has been brought to my notice that gross misadministration is being carried out in the SKA.
Glaring examples of irregularities have been pointed out to you but without any action being taken from your side on the matter” the PKF president, a former Pakistan hockey captain, had remarked in his letter.—APP
