OKARA, July 11: A member of the Islamic Ideology Council and JUI-F leader, Maulana Amir Hussain Gillani, has said that there is no conflict between Shias and Sunnis in Pakistan.

This he said while speaking at a joint Friday prayers gathering in Jamia Mohyul Islam Mosque, Lakarmandi, on the appeal of Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal to condemn the Quetta incident.

He held the government responsible for the Quetta carnage and said the federal interior minister should resign immediately. The government was implicating the MMA only to achieve its ulterior motives, he said.

The gathering was also addressed by MMA district president and JI district amir Capt Liaquat Ali Kausar (retired), Tehrik-i-Islami leader Syed Ghazanfar Ali Naqvi, Haji Ihsanul Haq and Ahle Hadith youth force leader Muhammad Rafi.

It was unanimously resolved that the district government should guard the mosques and imambargahs in the district.
