KARACHI, July 11: Advisor to chief minister for environment and alternative energy, Faisal Malik, has said that the government is trying to make the environment pollution-free and the Environmental Act, 1997, is being effectively enforced.

Presiding over a meeting at his office on Friday, Mr Malik appealed to the people to report, in written form, any activity resulting in proliferation of pollution in the city, at Environmental Protection Agency Complex, Chamra Chowrangi, Korangi Industrial Area.

He further asked the citizens to write down their names, phone numbers and addresses, because the department would not take action on anonymous complaints.—APP
