Global oil demand


PARIS, July 11: Growth in global demand for oil should come to one million barrels a day this year, the International Energy Agency said on Friday in a prediction unchanged from a report issued a month ago.

For 2004, demand for oil should grow 1.3pc, one million barrels a day, to 79.08 million bd in response to lower prices and an expected economic recovery, the IEA said in its monthly report for July. It added that output from producers outside the Opec should increase by 1.32 million bd in 2004 after an increase of 1.11 million this year.—AFP
