ISLAMABAD, July 10: The national selection committee headed by Aamir Sohail has shortlisted at least 10 players following trials to select junior probables for camp in preparation for Pakistan team’s tour of Sri Lanka.
The trials which were to take place at the KRL Stadium had to be moved to Rawalpindi Stadium because of overnight rain. As many 35 players attended the trials.
Meanwhile, Rawalpindi Cricket Association (RCA) has named Usman Saeed as the captain of their squad which is to face Islamabad in the opening match of the Under-19 Inter-District Championship on Friday.
Test cricketer Muhammad Waseem will be the coach of the side with Raja Sarfraz acting as the manager.
Our Correspondent adds from Lahore: Thirty-eight probables from three regions will appear in the trials which are being held at the Gaddafi Stadium on Friday to pick up players for the Pakistan Under-19 cricket tour of Sri Lanka next month.
Fifteen probables from Lahore region, 14 from Faisalabad region and nine from Multan region will appear in the trials.
National selection committee headed by Aamir Sohail will watch the trials.
The probables are advised to reach the venue at 9am.
