KPT, PTCL enter into semifinals

KARACHI, July 10: Karachi Port Trust (KPT) and PTCL advanced to the pre-finals of All Pakistan Golden Jubilee football tournament after earning identical 3-0 victories in quarterfinals at Colony Stadium Ground on Wednesday.

KPT outplayed Baloch Youth Club after leading 2-0 at the interval. Muhammad Idrees and Zafar Majeed scored the goals in the first half and Muhammad Akhtar added the third goal in second period.

After a barren opening session, PTCL scored thrice against Sui Southern Gas Company.

KPT scored all the three goals in space of 13-minutes. Essa Khan, Sabahat Ali and Shahid Ali Khan were on target in 68, 72 and 81st minutes. PTCL will take on Pakistan Railways in the semifinal Friday.—APP
