Accusations flayed

ISLAMABAD, July 10: All-Parties Hurriyat Conference Abdul Ghani Bhatt chairman on Wednesday termed Indian accusation of cross border infiltration an attempt to distract world attention from human rights violations by its forces in the occupied- Kashmir.

In a telephonic interview with Radio Pakistan’s news channel he reiterated that there was no foreign involvement in the ongoing indigenous freedom struggle.

Mr Bhatt said the Kashmir dispute had become dangerous not only for India and Pakistan but also for the whole region. “Peace in the region is not possible without the solution of the dispute,” he added.

He said that Amnesty International and other human rights organisations had been condemning violations committed by Indian forces in the occupied Kashmir, adding that international organizations, including the United Nations and international community must take action to stop such violations.

He urged that the Kashmir issue should be resolved according to the UN resolutions.—APP
