Samad upsets Hammad

KARACHI, July 9: Hyderabad’s Samad Baloch caused the first upset in the Pakistan Talent Hunt tennis championship when he humbled 4th seed Hammad Shoeb in straight sets at Karachi Gymkhana on Wednesday.

Girls singles: Haseen Fatima bt Maida Zia 6-0, 6-2

Boys Junior U-18 quarterfinals: Adnan Khan bt Robin Das 6-2, 6-2; Samad Baloch bt Hammad 6-1, 6-2; Akber Pataudi bt Saad 6-0, 6-1

Boys U-16: Salman Ahmed bt Syed Taha 6-2, 6-2; Shakoor Khan bt Qurban 6-1, 6-2; Ali Asgher bt Umer Jahangir 6-3, 6-1; Anil Das bt Asad Matchiswala 6-1, 6-4; Saad Baloch walk over Usman Ijaz.
