Afghan minister regrets attack
ISLAMABAD, July 9: The Afghan foreign minister Abdullah Abdullah has regretted the attack on Pakistan embassy at Kabul and assured “complete and effective security” for the mission.
Talking to foreign minister Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri from Italy on telephone, Mr Abdullah promised to hold an inquiry and punish those who carried out this “criminal attack”.
Mr Kasuri expressed grave concern over the mob attack on the Pakistani embassy in Kabul and said: “The authorities should have taken stern measures to prevent the incident.”
The Afghan foreign minister said: “The authorities at Kabul would take appropriate measures to ensure the inviolability of Pakistan’s embassy and of persons serving in Afghanistan.”
He hoped: “Such unfortunate incidents would not occur again.”
Mr Abdullah reiterated Afghanistan’s commitment to special relations with Pakistan and assured Kabul’s determination to work closely to further strengthen relations—APP
