LG elections in cantonments likely on Nov 5
RAWALPINDI, July 7: The defence ministry will conduct local bodies elections in the jurisdiction of cantonment boards areas on November 5, across the country.
A decision to this effect was made in a special meeting of cantonment boards high officials.
Before elections, Cantonment Boards act 1924 will be terminated gradually, said a press release issued here on Friday.
It is learnt that National Reconstruction Bureau will replace the existing system with a new set up of local bodies by introducing local bodies laws and regulations.—PPI
