Bashir guides Nawab XI

KARACHI, July 5: Two-goal Bashir Ahmad guided Nawab XI to a 4-1 win over Pakistan Petroleum in the KASB Premier League at Stadium on Saturday.

Nisar Ahmed Junior opened Nawab XI’s account with a 8th-minute strike which was followed by Bashir goal.

Pakistan Petroleum went 3-0 down when player of the match Bashir pounced in the 40th minute, while Abdul Basit sealed the fate of the game with the fourth goal five minutes later.

Pakistan Petroleum fought back but all they could get was a consolation goal in the 62nd minute through Ghulam Nabi Jr.

In another tie Aga Khan Gymkhana whipped ten-man Usmanabad Union 4-0.

Playing at their home ground, Aga Khan got off to a flying start when Hussain Mayani slammed home in the 12th minute.

The light-footed Aga Khan Gymkhana winger Sohail Pervaiz doubled the lead in the 42nd minute and Shamim Akhtar made it 3-0 three minutes later. Mohammad Ashraf wrapped up the proceedings with a 47th-minute finish.

Mohammad Javed of Usmanabad Union was named the player of the match.

Sunday’s fixture: LLWC v Bhutta Mohammadan at CDGK Stadium.
