Minister attacked
SRINAGAR, July 4: A state minister in the occupied Kashmir escaped unhurt after suspected freedom fighters hurled a grenade at his motorcade on Friday, but two civilians were killed and 18 injured in the assault, police said. The attack took place in Kokernag town in southern Kashmir and was aimed at killing Minister Peerzada Mohammad Syed.—Reuters
