Trial of 6 Al Qaeda men in US

By Our Correspondent

WASHINGTON, July 4: President George W. Bush has ordered the military trial of six Al Qaeda suspects held in US custody, possibly at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba.

Two of them, Moazzam Begg and Feroz Abbasi, are British citizens of Pakistani origin. Another is believed to be Australian David Hicks.

The military trial order, released by the Pentagon on Thursday evening, has renewed criticism from human rights groups who say that terror suspects arrested since September 11 are not getting a fair trial.
