KARACHI, July 3: A man was killed allegedly by his brothers- in-law in Jacob Lines on Wednesday night.
Police said Shahid Baig, 45, was asleep in his home when two persons stabbed him to death.
Police said the deceased had married a few days back. Victim’s body was shifted to Civil Hospital for postmortem.
Victim’s son Mohammad Zubair Baig nominated Imran and Rizwan — brothers-in-law of his father — in the case.
KILLED: Body of an unidentified young man in his mid-20s was found in Sector 5-L, Surjani, on Thursday morning. The body had bullet wounds.
BURNS: Three members of a family suffered serious burn wounds in their home in Malir on Thursday.
Police said Samina, 16, suffered serious burns when she tried to lit-up a stove. Her brother Adnan, 15, who was also nearby suffered serious wounds while their father Mirza Nazimuddin, 45, escaped with minor burns.
Police said probably a gas leakage caused the fire.
The family was rushed to the Civil Hospital where Samina’s condition was stated to be critical.
Hospital sources said Samina had suffered 100 per cent wounds while Adnan sustained 60 per cent.
Police said Adnan’s mother was in the neighbourhood at the time of the incident.
ROBBERIES: A couple was deprived of cash and credit cards at gunpoint by bandits in F.B. Area on Thursday.
Mr Kamran told Dawn that he along with his wife was returning home from Gulshan-i-Mustafa, F.B Area, Block 15, when the incident took place.
As the bandits were making their escape good, a police mobile stopped there, but did not make effort to arrest the bandits, Mr Kamran claimed.
After the incident, the couple went to the Jauharabad police station where the duty officer allegedly misbehaved with them.
The couple lost Rs 11,000 in cash, credit cards, ATM cards, passport of Mr Kamran’s father-in-law.
In a house robbery, unknown persons entered house No R-50 near Zakia Palace Malir and escaped with valuables.
Inmates told Dawn that the house was locked since early Thursday morning as the family had gone to attend the funeral of a relative.
On Thursday evening, neighbours called the family and informed that their house seems to have been burgled.
When the family returned, they found the entire belongings of the house up-side down.
INJURED: A young man was injured in a firing incident on Superhighway on Thursday.
Police said Iqbal, 30, was injured in firing near Nadir Hospital.
The victim was shifted to Abbasi Hospital from where he was referred to Aga Khan University.
