KARACHI: Anti-malaria drive in city launched

KARACHI, July 3: Health department of the city government has launched an anti-malaria spray drive in the city on Thursday, ahead of monsoon season, to check the growth of mosquitoes.

However, the drive has been launched hurriedly by the department due to strong directives of Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad, for reducing the threat of malaria in the city.

Meanwhile, City Nazim Naimatullah Khan has conveyed his concern to EDO, Health, Dr Alil Nawaz Sheikh, over the ineffective performance of malaria control department in the city.

Under the campaign, from July 3 to July 25, all the towns of Karachi will be covered, in coordination with UC Nazims and officials.

According to the plan all malaria inspector and supervisors have been directed to make efforts in their respective towns to control the spread of malaria.—PPI
