KARACHI, July 2: Three persons, including a girl, were shot dead in separate incidents in different localities of the metropolis on Wednesday.
Police said that Syed Iqbal Husain, 45, was shot dead by bandits in Clifton. Mr Iqbal, an estate agent, along with his brother Shahid came to MCB, Clifton branch, on Wednesday morning.
After drawing Rs100,000 cash from the bank, they were coming out of the building, when two armed men tried to snatch the money from them. On resistance, the bandits opened fire and took away the cash.
Police said that Iqbal Husain died on the spot, while his brother Shahid sustained a bullet wound in his leg. The deceased was a resident of Lyari.
A young girl was shot dead by her father in New Karachi on Wednesday night.
Police said that Naseema, 17, had married Naseem Ahmed about the last year against the will of her parents. About two months back, the father and daughter had a patch-up and apparently the relations were normalized. It was being presumed that the father had forgiven her, police said.
Mohammad Yousaf, father of the girl, told her on telephone that some relatives were coming. Naseem Ahmed dropped his wife at her father’s house and left for work.
Later, Mohammad Yousaf allegedly shot his daughter and escaped from the house. The wounded girl was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival. Hospital sources said that the young girl was pregnant, when she was shot by her father.
Meanwhile, in a dispute over the possession of a flat, a young man was shot dead in Gulistan-i-Jauhar late on Tuesday night.
Police said that Naeem Siddiqui was running a dispute over the possession of an apartment in Faraz Avenue of Gulistan-i-Jauhar.
On Tuesday night, both parties were called at the union office of the apartments complex. As Naeem Siddiqui was present in the office, two persons came there, one of them introduced himself as Salman. He opened fire at Naeem and escaped in a jeep.
Police said that Naeem suffered a fatal wound in the chest and died before he could be shifted to any hospital.
ACCIDENTS: A conductor of a minibus died after falling from the speeding minibus in TPX area.
Police said that Sanaullah, 25, conductor of route G-3 minibus died, when he fell from the moving minibus. He was rushed to the Civil Hospital Karachi, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
A speeding vehicle (JA-6022) knocked down Murad Ali, 20, to death in Bin Qasim. His body was shifted to the JPMC for post- mortem examination.
A recklessly driven Data coach fell into an open storm drain in North Karachi, resulting in the death of a passenger, Nasir, 23, and injuring five other passengers.
