KARACHI, June 29: Four Bidders managed a two IMP win over Giants in Super Marathon Bridge Tournament on Saturday.
The marathon has already reached to its half way mark and at this stage Giants the leader of the pack have just conceded their lead to the underdogs of the tournament, Four Bidders.
When the two unbeaten met in fourth round, Four Bidders managed a 2 IMP win over Giants.
Four-Bidders comprising Sharif Chowdhry, S.P Jamal, Taqi and Syed Ameer Hasan first outplayed Ahmed IV 25-03 then they faced Giants, having the services of international Shahin Iqbal, Khurshid Hadi, Maj Zaidi and Masood Mazhar.
Earlier Giants defeated Raees18-12 when their combination of Tahir Masood and Kemal Shoaib clicked. They have taken Four Bidders too lightly, but Four Bidders never let them play on their tunes, it was a very close match.
Raees with Saleem Ahmed, Mubashir Puri, Mazhar, Shoaib Khan and Raees Ahmed have first went down to Giants in the third round 12-18, but they were lucky to have ladies team and annexed 23-7 raising score to 80 VP.
Allana faced no resistance from Abbas who made silly mistakes and Allana enjoyed maximum point victory 25-4, in the third round, but Lipton gave them tough time and returned home with 16-14 victory.
Lipton used every trick of their trade to pile up 20 V.P. against Aces. Rehamn Allana, Rashid Jaffer, Sultan Siddiqui, Sarfraz Khan and Tehseen Gheewala have so far played for Allana, while Lipton have fielded their regular pairs of M.A Ansari-Rashidul Ghazi, Nasir Reza-Abdul Khaliq and Pervaiz Mirza.
Following are top ten positions at the half way mark:
