Tribal clash claims four lives

SHIKARPUR, June 29: Four persons were killed and two others were injured in an armed clash between two groups of the Jafri tribe in the Jafri village, Garhi Yasin taluka, here on Saturday.

Those killed in the clash included Allah Rakhio, 25, Karam Ali, 33, and Ms Koonjan, 22. The injured, Nazir and Ghulam Murtaza, were taken to a hospital.

The Golo Daro police have registered a case.

The motive behind the incident is said to be an old dispute over land.

Our Sukkur Correspondent adds: A guest, Abdul Nabi Kharos, was also killed in the clash.

Both the groups, belonging to Haji Khan Doro and Abdul Rahim Jafri villages, have entrenched against each other and exchange of firing is continuing.

RALLY: : A rally was staged at the Hathi gate the other day evening against the unscheduled loadshedding of electricity in the city.

The protesters demanded of Hyderabad Electric Supply Company authorities to stop the practice. They threatened to launch a protest drive against the frequent loadshedding.
