Hataf Sara poised for 3rd successive victory
LAHORE, June 28: Bay mare Hataf Sara, an outstanding performer in her two previous outings, will be going all out to make it three in-a-row in the supporting event run over 1200 metres during the Lahore Gymkhana races at the Racecourse on Sunday.
This five-year-old daughter of Hataf out-of-Sara Show is contesting in Shahdara Plate, a class V division I handicap race in a small field of eight runners, if there are no last-minute withdrawals.
Housebred by Raja Khushbakht-ur-Rehman Hataf Sara is at her peak form and performed superbly winning two back-to-back races on June a and June 15 last. She will be on the trot to complete a hat-trick on Sunday in the seventh race of the day.
Among her rivals, top-weight Better Case and lowly placed Morning Bird should fight for less remunerative positions.
In the feature and eighth race bay filly Rukhtas Again, Dare To Dream and Royal Fantasy looks good in a field of nine runners barring last-minute withdrawals.
Rukhtas Again was placed second behind Incognito in Bahalwal Nagar Plate class IV division I and II combined handicap race and on that showing she has an edge over the others.
She is appearing in the Mala Kand Plate, a class IV division 1 and II and should make amends this time. The race is to be run over 1200m.
Four contenders among afield of a dozen,namely, Imagine Iff, Honest Bird, Fair Boy and Aecho are prominent in the sixth race to be contested over 1200m.
By virtue of his fine performance Honest Bird, who is undefeated with four straight victories, should make it five in-a-row. The others should follow him for places on the board.
The fifth race, Kohat Plate class VII division I to have gone over the sprinting distance of 1000 metres seems to be a battle between a quartet of good sprinters. They are: Hunza, Puma King, King Of Bhakkar and Al trui Princess. Hunza and King Of Bhakkar are a bit faster than the others. A big field of 16 is to line up before the starter in this event.
A card of eight races will be seen through. The first five events will be contested over 1000 metres while the remaining three will be decided over 1200 metres. The first race will start at 2pm.
