India asked to give mediation a chance

ISLAMABAD, June 27: Pakistan on Friday urged India not to shy away from foreign mediation in the dispute over Kashmir to accelerate moves to dialogue.

“We must get out of any complexes and hangovers and express our gratitude to the international community for being concerned about the fate of 1.3 billion people of South Asia,” Foreign Minister Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri said in a statement.

Mr Kasuri was reacting to his Indian counterpart Yashwant Sinha’s Thursday’s rejection of any outside involvement. — AFP
