KARACHI, June 25: An election tribunal, headed by Justice Muhammad Moosa K Leghari of Sindh High Court, reserved the judgment on the election petition filed against MPA Sardar Jam Tamachi of Pakistan People Party Parliamentarian (PPPP) after concluding the final arguments of both side counsels.
The petition was filed by National Alliance candidate, Dr Bahadur Khan Dehri, after general election 2002. The petitioner questioned the graduation of returned candidate and alleged rigging during polling in provincial assembly constituency PS-28 of Nawabshah.
PLEA DISMISSED: Another election tribunal comprising Justice Syed Zawwar Hussain Jaffery dismissed an election petition filed by Amar Lal against MPA Mukesh Kumar. Neil Keshav advocate represented the respondent, MPA Mukesh, while petitioner was represented by Jhamat Mal advocate.
FSC: Justice S A Rabbani of Federal Shariat Court (FSC) on Wednesday reserved judgment in an appeal filed by Bakshoo alias Bakhshal against his conviction and sentence in a rape case.
The appellant was sentenced to serve 10 years, pay a fine of Rs25,000 and to sustain 30 lashes by ADJ Nawabshah. —PPI/APP
