KARACHI, June 25: President of Karachi Transport Ittehad, Syed Irshad Hussain Shah Bukhari, has appealed to city Nazim, DIG Traffic and Capital City Police Officer to remove the encroachments from roads in Liquatabad and Daakkhana.

He said that these encroachments were hindering the smooth flow of traffic and roads were blocked usually due to these encroachments. However, he appreciated the efforts to streamline traffic system in Karachi.

Bukhari said that traffic police had launched a campaign to ensure proper use of female compartments, which was a good initiative and KTI had joined hands in this campaign, which was producing positive results.

He said that the difficulties of transporters should also be solved. In this regard, he said that all the busy roads in Saddar, Boulton Market, Lea Market and Liaquatabad were full of encroachments. He especially mentioned a patch encroached by ice cream vendors between the main road and service lane at Daakkhana, which was causing traffic problems daily.—APP
