KARACHI, June 25: Rich tributes were paid at a joint reference held under the auspices of the Karachi Press Club to its four late council members — Syed Manzar-ul-Hasan, editor of an evening newspaper, Salman Hussain, ex-special correspondent APP, A.R Slote, eminent film journalist and Syed Mehdi Shirazi, a free lance.
At the reference presided over by the KPC president Sabihuddin Ghausi, colleagues of the late journalists recalled their selfless services and dedication to the profession.
The speakers said those late journalists belonged to a breed which was fast disappearing under increasing commercialism.
