DADU, June 24: Students of the Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences (LUMHS), Jamshoro, on Tuesday boycotted their classes and staged a demonstration at the campus to protest against the university’s project director.

They said the Jamshoro police, at the insistence of project director Javed Memon, on Monday night arrested third year BDS student Jameel Ahmad Ujjan and tortured him at the police station.

They were led by the chairman of the students’ action committee and president of the Sindh People’s Students Federation-SB, LUMHS chapter, Shiraz Shakrani.
