RAWALPINDI, June 24: Civil Judge and Judicial Magistrate Hasnain Azhar Shah on Tuesday seized the cell-phone of a sub- inspector (SI) of Ganjmandi police station after he violated the court directive to switch it off inside the court.

Allah Yar, SI, had produced an accused in a liquor-peddling case in the court when all of a sudden his cell-phone started ringing that disturbed the court proceedings. The police official brought the cell-phone to the court despite the fact that no one is allowed to bring phone to the court. The judge also scolded the police official and observed that being a policeman he should have abided by the court rules. It was after the written assurance of the police official that the judge allowed the staff to hand him over the cell-phone.
