2 accused in murder case acquitted

By Our Reporter

RAWALPINDI, June 23: The additional district and sessions judge, Chaudhry Abdul Qayyum, on Monday acquitted two persons, who were charged for killing an activist of People’s Students Federation after the prosecution failed to present any evidence against them.

Meanwhile, the additional district and sessions judge, Syed Pervez Ali Shah, issued the non-bailable arrest warrant of Sub- Inspector Haider Zaman for failing to present the record of a case before the court, despite receiving summon notice.

TWO MINORS RECOVERED: A bailiff constituted by the district and sessions judge, Dost Muhammad Khemta, recovered two minors.

In first incident, a bailiff recovered a one and a half years old girl, Nishaat, from the custody of her father.

The court took the move after receiving a habeas corpus application from Ghazala Bibi, the mother of the minor.

Ghazala had contended that her ex-husband had taken her daughter by force.

In the second incident, the same court handed over another 18-month-old son to her mother, Tasneem Akhtar. The bailiff had recovered the child from the custody of his grandfather.
