Scouts major killed in accident

QUETTA, June 23: A major of Kalat scouts was killed and five people injured, three of them seriously, when their pick-up overturned near Kalat on Monday.

According to sources, Maj Zia Mustafa was chasing a vehicle loaded with smuggled petrol and diesel but the pick-up he was riding went out of the control of the driver near Numrak and overturned.

The major was killed while five other personnel of the force, Safdar, Mohammad Yousaf, Abdul Rehman, Liaquat Ali and the driver, Ayam, received injuries. They were taken to the Kalat hospital and later brought to the combined military hospital here. According to hospital sources the condition of three injured was serious.
