HYDERABAD, June 23: The Sindh Professors and Lectures Association has demanded withdrawal of computer fees from colleges in accordance with the Sindh cabinet decision.

The association held an urgent meeting on Monday at the government Sachal Sarmast arts and commerce college with Prof Liaqaut Aziz in the chair.

The meeting adopted a resolution, demanding the removal of additional secretary, academic, Dr Noorul Haq and the recall of college teachers who were working on deputation in the secretariat and boards of education.

It was demanded that contracts of the retired professors should be cancelled and an inquiry should be held against those officials who were allegedly involved in the bungling of funds on the pretext of holding sports during the summer season.

In another resolution, the meeting demanded the removal of EDO Education Sukkur Rafia Naz for her corrupt practices. The association suggested that instead of providing the so-called free medical facilities to the college teachers, they should be given medical allowance of Rs1,000 per month.

LUMHS: Vice chancellor Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences Jamshoro paid a surprise visit to all departments of the university on Monday and checked the attendance of officers and staff.
