KARACHI: Cyclists on peace mission in Karachi

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, June 23: Two Bangladeshi youth, who are on a world tour on bicycles, to spread the message of love and peace in the world, arrived in the city on Sunday night.

The 25-year-old Kamal Kumar Saha, a homeopath, and his colleague, Mohammad Momanur Rahman, a poultry farmer, started off their cycling tour from Chittagong on April 20, 2003. They expect to complete their travel at Myanmar, which is near Chittagong, their starting point.

So far, travelling through four countries — India, Bhutan, Nepal and Sri Lanka, they have covered a distance of around 4,500 kilometres, in a couple of months.

They said that from Pakistan they would go to Iran and later to Kuwait.

Mr Saha and Mr Rahman came to Dawn offices on Monday evening and talking to the reporter they said that religion, race, country or class will never be a barrier to those who truly wish to strive for world peace.
