Your Pleasure obliges racing fans with second win
KARACHI, June 22: The four-year-old bay colt Your Pleasure, obliged the racing fans by registering his second straight victory at the Summer Gymkhana Race Meeting held on Sunday at the Karachi Racecourse.
Having the services of Kashif Ali once more in the saddle, Your Pleasure after a very slow start, came in from behind with a rattling burst a furlong from the winning post to collar Ceaser’s Palace a few yards away from the winning post, to pick up the spoils in the fourth race on the afternoon’s programme.
But the winning streak of Roberto Carlos Fan came to a grinding halt when the chestnut colt sprinting for home for his third successive victory, was beaten in his last stride by The Club Champion partnered by Mujadhid Ali.
With Asghar Ali once again in the saddle, Roberto Carlos Fan collared Guarantee when heads turned for home and seemed to on target to complete his hat trick of victories. But it was not to be. The Club Champion flying in from behind nipped Roberto Carlo Fan at the post.
Trainer Mansoor Alam had a field day completing a brace of winners through Law Of Nature in the opening race and Little Sunny in the third.
Law Of Nature ridden by Abdul Jabbar, beat Major Dandy by a neck and Little Sunny made every post a winning one, holding off the belated challenge from Mark and Rukhsar in the third event.
Lucky Lover ridden by Imamdin won the second event of the afternoon from Even Top, after Tom Cruise was installed as the favourite when with jockey Shehzad took over the reins at the starting gate. But alas, the roan mare faded away in the straight.
As mentioned in our column, Shah Mardan Shah II, Pir Pagaro VII’s dark bay filly Don’t Panic with Sher Mohammad astride, won the fifth event for the mere asking, chased all the way to the winning post by Bull Dancer and Knight Fighter.
Satellite Star ridden by Zahoor Ahmed also registered another triumph for owner Hymayoun in the sixth race, beating Wonder Thunder and Shah Khan to the winning post after Blue’s Night trying runaway tactics, ran out of steam in the home stretch.
The next race meeting is scheduled to be held on Sunday, June 29.
