Dacoits kill guard for Rs20,000

LAHORE, June 22: Two dacoits killed a security guard for putting up resistance and took away Rs20,000 in cash from a bakery near Husain Chowk, Gulberg, on Sunday.

According to police, the bandits came to the bakery, held up the cashier at gunpoint and collected Rs20,000 in cash. They were about to flee when guard Noor Shahid resisted them. They opened fire on him and fled. Noor was injured and was rushed to the Services Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Police have registered a case against unidentified dacoits on the report of cashier Muhammad Khalid.

Meanwhile, a woman, Fouzia Bibi, 20, was strangled by her husband Muhammad Riaz, mother-in-law Salma and father-in-law Muhammad Nawaz over a domestic issue at Al-hamd Colony, Wahdat Road, here on Sunday.

Police have registered a case and arrested all accused. Further investigation is underway.—APP
