Rs0.6m cash, gold looted

KASUR, June 22: Four armed men looted cash and jewellery worth Rs0.6 million from a house at Shehbaz Khan Road here on Saturday.

Armed bandits barged into the house of Ahmad Ali, held the inmates hostage and tortured women and children when they tried to raise an alarm. Later, the intruders locked them in a room, scooped some 80 tolas of gold and Rs85,000 in cash and escaped with the booty.

A police spokesman said one of the dacoits was arrested. He identified the arrested dacoit as Ashfaq. He said police also recovered Rs50,000 from the arrested accused.
