Devotees resent entrance of woman Nazim to shrine

SAHIWAL, June 22: Strong resentment prevails among the devotees of Baba Fariduddin Shakarganj on the issue of entering a woman Nazim into the shrine by forcibly getting opened the Bahishti Darwaza on Saturday night.

Fauzia Bakhtiar, Pakpattan urban union council Nazim and a relative of the shrine caretaker, forcibly got opened the Bahishti Darwaza and entered the shrine with her friends.

INJURED: Four bandits on Sunday snatched Rs0.64 million from a showroom owner and injured him on resistance at Yadgar here on Sunday.

Muhammad Asghar was present in his office when bandits came there and asked him to hand over all the cash to them. On meeting resistance, they shot at and injured him and fled in their Pajero after scooping cash from the safe.

TWO COMMIT SUICIDE: Two youths on Sunday committed suicide by taking poison in different areas.

Omar Farooq of Chak 64/4-R had come to the city for working as a labourer.

Sohail of Mohallah Chishtian also ended his life after taking poisonous pills. The reasons of their committing suicide could not be known.
