Your Pleasure should not let backers down
KARACHI, June 21: The four-year-old colt Your Pleasure, after his splendid victory last week, should not let the racing fans down, when the Summer Gymkhana Race Meeting gets under way at the Karachi Racecourse on Sunday.
Your Pleasure finished third, 3 3/4 lengths behind the winner Dr. Dre two weeks ago, who sprinted home over the five furlongs distance in one minute 7 1/5 seconds.
Participating last week over the same journey, Your Pleasure with the same rider Kashif Ali aboard, beating Sovero by 4 1/4 lengths in a smart time of one minute 4 2/5 seconds making an amazing improvement of nearly four seconds or should we say about 20 lengths and that too within seven days.
Improving further on Sunday, Your Pleasure should gain a further one more second to say the least and could win this race hands down in the fourth event from nearest rivals Sajan Black and Yaqoob Choice in a big field of 18 runners.
A card of seven events have been drawn up to be contested over five furlongs. The first race begins at 1.30 p.m.
Another contender that should not lose on Sunday is the six-year-old bay Roberto Carlos Fan owned by Islamuddin and trained by Mohayuddin.
Contesting in the concluding race with 11 runners in the field, Roberto Carlos Fan should sprint past the winning post chased all the way over the five furlongs by Guarantee, Mega Hit and Champion Star.
The first event of the afternoon should be won by the aged gelding Law Of Nature, challenged throughout by Darbari Malang, Super Boy and Much Better.
Top Cruise, the Late High Speed although burdened to carry 9-2 on his back will run a good race with a good ride astride, followed home by Prism Of Life, Noor-un Nisa and Raysham.
Last week, the bay mare Rukhsar played truant and finished off the board after winning quite comfortably the previous outing. Taking part in the third race of the afternoon, Rukhsar should make amends win the third event from Little Sunny and Baby Tabassum with Mark completing the frame.
Shah Mardan Shah II Pir Pagaro’s thoroughbred dark bay filly Don’t Panic, a sibling of Strides By Strides out of Kafioca should win the fourth race on the programme by a street if called upon to deliver the goods with Sonia, Love Land and Auzy, and impressive winner last Sunday, battling it out for the place chances.
The sixth event has four runners, two half breds Rani Mukharji and Regni along with two thoroughbreds Millions Winner and The First Lady, making their maiden appearance on this track in a field of 18 runners.
This event should provide the racing fans with its fair share of thrills and spills with Blue’s Night, Prince Of Arabia, Sarazen and Satellite Star vying for the spoils.
Tthe grey mare Blue’s Night, second last week to Robert Carlos Fan, should edge out Prince Of Arabia and Sarazan while sprinting for home.
