LAHORE, June 21: Pakistan Muslim League (Quaid-i-Azam) Senator Kamil Ali Agha has said by tabling a no-confidence motion against the National Assembly speaker, the opposition has dealt a setback to the efforts being made for the settlement of contentious issues.
In a press statement issued on Saturday, he said the speaker had done nothing illegal by giving his ruling on the LFO. He predicted that the opposition would be surprised at the result of the voting for no-trust resolution.
The defeat of the motion against the speaker would be a decision in favour of the LFO, the PML-Q leader said. He added that the defeat of the motion would demoralise the opposition, which would not repeat the similar step against the Senate chairman.
