KHAIRPUR, June 20: A dacoit, Ibrahim Sandeelo, was killed and two constables were injured in an encounter between the police and the dacoit in the Ahmedpur area on Friday.

The DPO Khairpur, Tahir Naveed, constituted a police party comprising personnel from five police stations and surrounded the banana orchards at Ahmadpur, Kingri Taluka, where the encounter between the police and dacoit took place.

In the exchange of fire, Ibrahim Sandeelo, was killed while two constables, Ali Gohar Soomro and Hamid Ali Burdari, were injured.

The injured policemen were admitted to the Civil Hospital Khairpur.

The dacoit was wanted in about 100 cases of murder, kidnappings, and robberies, which were registered at different police stations of Khairpur, Sukkur and Shikarpur districts.

The dacoit was also nominated in a recent case regarding a clash between the Jagirani and Narejo tribes in which five Jagiranis were killed in the jurisdiction of the Baradi Jatoi police station.

The Sindh government had announced a head money of Rs1,000,000 for the dacoit.

It may be mentioned here that Ibrahim Sandeelo had turned into a dacoit after a tribal clash between the Syed and Shaikh communities in 1970.

He was the leader of a big gang of dacoits and led it in many crimes.
