MUZAFFARABAD, June 19: Former AJK minister and People’s Party leader Khwaja Farooq Ahmed on Tuesday accused AJK Legislative Assembly’s deputy speaker Sanaullah Qadri of issuing “serious threats to his life” at a recent public meeting here.
Mr Farood Ahmed said that the threats had been issued in the presence of AJK Prime Minister Sardar Sikandar Hayat Khan, adding that Mr Qadri had said that “if I did not desist from opposing the government he would teach me an unforgettable lesson.”
The PPAJK leader alleged that Mr Qadri was already facing a murder case registered against him in Rawalpindi besides accusing him of having attempted to physically assault another AJKPP leader Sahibzada Ishaq Zafar during the latest assembly session.
Mr Farooq said that he had waited for three days for the AJK prime minister to disavow the threats issued by Mr Qadri or for Mr Qadri to retract his statement but there had been no such move.
