KARACHI, June 19: Five ships carrying containers, base oil and to load naphtha are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Friday, according to KPT sources.
Cargo handling activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where a total tonnage of 82,582 tons comprising 5,059 tons of export cargo and 77,523 tons of import tonnage including 53,015 tons of oils was handled.
Owing to steady arrivals of foreign flag ships, berthing activity at the wharves was active. Five ships, Hammurabi, Hyundai Future, to unload and load containers, Betelgeuze, to unload coal, Tolmi, to offload fertilizer, Chios Sailor, to offload wheat for Afghanistan and Northern Bell to unload gas oil.
Five ships, APL Portugal, Orient Stride, Sema Denix, Warbah and Stolt Lily departed, while Hammurabi and Northern Bell are due to sail out on Friday.
The following ships are due on Friday: Emirate Peace, with base oil, Gudermes to load 25,000 tons of naphtha, Kota Tegap, Wehr Havel and Sima Bahar, with containers.

KARACHI, June 19: Four ships carrying containers, edible oil, furnace oil and LPG arrived at the outer anchorage during the last 24 hours, says a PQA press release on Thursday.
Berth occupancy remained on the higher side as five ships, Safmarine Vinson, Mari Laki, Entalina, Sun Crystal and Orion Princess were busy in loading/offloading containers, wheat, edible oil and carbon oil.
Cargo handling activity remained slow as the total tonnage fell to 18,595 tons comprising 11,431 tons of import cargo and 7,164 tons of export cargo was handled.
Two ships, Fare Mare and Safmarine Vinson were departed, while Sun Crystal and Entalina were expected to leave the port.
Five ships, New Setokaze, Lister, Lingfield, London and Stolt Avenier were awaiting berths at the outer anchorage.
Francisca Schulte was due to arrive at the port.
