All-round display by Azhar

KARACHI, June 18: Azhar Ali produced a fine all-round show to steer Zone-VI Whites into the semifinal of KCCA Inter-zonal Under-15 Cricket Championship with a thrilling two-wicket win over Zone-II Whites at TMC Ground on Tuesday.

Azhar took three for 63 with his leg-spinners as Zone-II Whites were dismissed for 186 in the last over. Sameer Haider claimed three for 61.

Zone-VI Whites, in reply, reached their target in 46.3 overs. Wasim Ali hit 40 while Azhar Ali contributed 31.

Meanwhile, at Students Ground Zone-I Blues overwhelmed Zone-IV Blues by 105 runs thanks to 67 by Tanvir Qureshi, who slammed 10 boundaries, and slow left-armer Imran Ahmed’s six for 25.

In another match played at Asifabad Sports Ground, left-arm spinner Rehan Shaikh grabbed six for 11 to help Zone-VII Blues defeat Zone-III Blues by 54 runs.
