ISLAMABAD, June 17: National Assembly speaker Chaudhry Amir Hussain has said interaction between parliamentary groups of Pakistan and Turkey is beginning of a new era and an opportunity to understand and benefit from each other’s experiences.

“The exchange of visits between the parliamentary groups would further strengthen our bilateral relations in the fields of trade, commerce, culture and tourism,” he said while talking to Pak-Turkish Parliamentary Friendship delegation that called on him under the leadership of Mehdi Eker, the president of the group.

The speaker discussed with the group means to enhance bilateral relations with special emphasis on inter-parliamentary affairs.

He expressed confidence that all members of Parliamentary friendship group would make efforts in fortifying fraternal relations.

Mr Hussain referred to the forthcoming visit of Pakistan parliamentary delegation to Turkey, and said it would be another milestone on the road to friendship.

He conveyed his good wishes to Bulent Arinq, president of Grand National Assembly of Turkey.

Mehdi Eker appreciated the interest of Pakistani parliamentarians in the affairs of the group.

He said the presence of so many women in Pakistan’s parliament was a pleasant and inspiring aspect of present democratic setup.—APP
